One-on-one opportunities in Myanmar — one of the richest photographic destinations on the planet.

If you’ve never done a Burma photography tour, the time is now. For generations this amazing country has been virtually frozen in time, isolated from the economic and technological strides being boldly taken by its neighbours. That relative isolation, combined with Myanmar’s strong cultural traditions, created incredible and unique photographic opportunities on almost every dusty street corner or village track. Today, with the doors open to rapid modernisation, many of those image-making opportunities are becoming more elusive. Old practices are fading, landscapes are transforming, jobs are upscaling and people are migrating to where prosperity lies. And the mixed blessing of mass tourism is starting to make itself felt.

With our Burma photography tour, we’ve gone the extra mile to bring you some of the rare and unique opportunities offered by this fabulous destination. We seek out the streets, the markets, the villages that are still raw and authentic. We put you in front of faces and places where the Burma of old is still in stunning evidence. We travel to locations far from the tourist buses, and give you plenty of time and support to let you craft thoughtful and exciting images. And because we run this tour on a private basis rather than as a public group tour, you get a shooting programme tuned closely around your preferences and interests. All backed up by slick travel logistics and some of the best photography support and 'fixer' expertise in the business.

  • A private tour accompanied by our pro photography guide throughout
  • Start date, duration, content emphasis and itinerary to suit you
  • Typically starts Bangkok or Yangon but can be planned from any start point
  • Best time to visit for general photography: November → February

Tour itinerary

Eat. Sleep. Shoot.

As this is a private photography tour of Myanmar, everything is tailored around you. For example, your Burma photography tour may want to emphasise its monastery life, its tattooed tribespeople or its bustling street markets. A classic 10-day itinerary could whisk you across to the choicest aspects of Burma’s best-known photographic highlights. A 15-day itinerary would include some of its rarer and less publicly accessible opportunities, as well as provide more time for careful, considered shooting sessions. Locations we visit would typically include Yangon, Bagan, Mindat, Salay, Sagaing, Mandalay, Amarapura, Mingun and Inle Lake, but our approach to private tours is driven more by your preferred pace, content and style rather than any specific route.
