Photography Tour Thailand: Festivals of Thailand 2013 | Southeast Asia photography holidays
At the sharp end: Shooting two great Thai traditions.
This is a photography tour for people who want to experience Thailand in the raw. It's an unforgettable 12-day photo tour of Thailand taking in two astonishing Thai celebrations, with the dazzling contrasts of modern Bangkok, idyllic Krabi and the ancient hill-tribespeople of northern Thailand sandwiched in between.
You'll start with the world-famous Phuket Vegetarian Festival… so colourful, so dramatically staged and so powerful that it seems almost designed for photographers. And you'll go on to the delicious madness of the Chonburi Buffalo Race, where normally sane rural farmers hurl their water-buffalo around a racetrack with reckless abandon while costumed dancers and local beauty queens compete for camera attention.
In between, we'll shoot on the hauntingly beautiful beaches of Krabi, witness astonishing lifestyles in bustling Bangkok, and spend patient time photographing the hill tribes up near the border with Myanmar.
This Thailand photography tour is not for the faint-hearted. Although our Shoot Director (a local resident who happens to be a Brit) will be closely attuned to the needs of our tiny band of photographers, a spirit of adventure will help you get the very best from this remarkable Thai encounter.
